The floral and aromatic 2013 Tilenus la Florida had a vibrant palate, with lively acidity that was dominated by notes of acidic strawberry and a hint of iron and blood. The tannins are fine and the flavors long and lingering. 25,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2015.

The single-vineyard Mencía 2011 Tilenus la Florida was heady and aromatic, with intoxicating aromas of violets, ripe cherries and exotic spices. Despite the heat of the vintage, the wine shows good balance and the tannins are fine-tuned and come through as a pleasant and powerful Mencía with focused flavors and nicely integrated oak. 25,500 bottles produced.

The first single vineyard Mencía 2010 Tilenus la Florida fermented with indigenous yeasts and was aged in French barriques for 12-14 months. The fruit is very ripe and the oak feels contained, especially when comparing it with some of its siblings. 2010 was a warm vintage (not as cold as in other places), and the wine shows it. There are some aromas of baked apples and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of dusty tannins. 40,000 bottles were filled in May 2013. Even after almost three years in bottle, the effect of the oak is quite evident.

The red that used to be sold as Crianza is now the 2008 Tilenus La Florida, a Mencía red from a single vineyard on a clay slope that names the wine planted with old head-pruned vines. The grapes fermented in open stainless steel vats and the wine aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. The nose shows a young, slow-aging wine with plenty of flower aromas, terse fruit and spicy notes, with well-integrated oak echoes. In bottle since 2011, the palate is really silky, polished, round and tasty with fully resolved tannins and ready to go. A great, aged Bierzo form one of the best recent vintages that was aged for us by the winery and sold at a very reasonable price. 20,000 bottles produced.
