The 2020 Meursault Village now incorporates all the lieu-dit bottlings that Jobard used to produce, and the result is unsurprisingly deeper and more complete. Offering up notes of pear, crisp green apple, white flowers, pastry cream and hazelnuts, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with tangy acids, chalky structuring extract and a penetrating finish.

The 2019 Meursault Village is rich and generous, mingling aromas of pear and green apple with notions of freshly baked bread and confit citrus. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, its fleshy core of fruit is girdled by lively acids and chalky extract, though it remains gourmand and giving in profile.

The 2018 Meursault Village unwinds in the glass with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and praline, framed by a light touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, bright and racy, it's open and delicate, with tangy acids and a light touch of chalky back-end grip.

The 2017 Meursault Village unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, yellow orchard fruit and white flowers mingled with hints of oatmeal and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, deep and satiny, it's layered and concentrated, built around a racy spine of acidity. Long and penetrating, this has turned out superbly.

The 2016 Meursault Village usually comes from three vineyards, although two were virtually entirely decimated by frost, and so this comes almost entirely from Les Chaumes. It has a delightful bouquet with dried honey and subtle hazelnut aromas that gradually unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a brisk, well-defined entry, not a complex Meursault Village but nimble on its toes with a touch of spice on the short finish.
