The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village is showing nicely, mingling notes of wild berries and petals with rich spices, deftly framed by a judicious touch of toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with velvety tannins and lively acids, it's a pretty, gourmand example of the vintage.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village has turned out nicely, bursting from the glass with expressive aromas of rose petals, spices, wild berries and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, layered and invitingly perfumed, it's built around powdery tannins and succulent acids. Despite its deceptive charm, there's considerable structure here to sustain graceful evolution in the cellar.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village opens in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, forest floor, spices, smoked meats and candied peel, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate that's supple and open-knit, with its generous core of sappy fruit framed by melting tannins and mouthwatering acids. This is a charming, expressive Vosne-Romanée that will drink well young.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village wafts from the glass with aromas of minty berries, smoke and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy palate, with ripe tannins, succulent acids and a touch of youthful structural grip on the finish.

The 2014 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from vines in the lieu-dit Violette and Aux Réas that are sometimes bottled separately. It has a simple, clean redcurrant and strawberry scented bouquet that would benefit from a little more intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin on the entry. I appreciate the fineness of the tannin here and the tension displayed towards the finish, a village cru that comes recommended.
