The 2016 Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly was hit by frost acutely on the lower slopes but not at all on the parcel’s higher reaches. Therefore, the harvest here was reduced by 30%. It has a strict, quite stony bouquet with a light sea spray influence developing in the glass, though never as intense as the 2014 or 2015. The palate is very precise on the entry, great detail here with a touch of sour lemon lending tension and energy. What it might just lack is length and aftertaste, scarpering out of the exit door just a touch too hastily. Otherwise, this is very fine.

The 2015 Saint Aubin 1er Cru en Remilly has the unenviable task of following up their brilliant 2014. It gives it a good try. It offers an expressive and quite powerful bouquet at first with citrus fruit, dandelion and damp earthy notes, then recedes a little, pulls back and becomes more refined. The palate is well balanced with good sucrosity, though I feel that it does not quite deliver the complexity of the Santenay Village and needs a little more terroir expression towards the finish.

The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru en Remilly, picked at the beginning of the harvest, has a refined bouquet that gently builds in the glass with lime, Granny Smiths and cold limestone scents that are very "En Remilly". The palate is tensile from the start, liquid rocks here, very Puligny-like with superb tension and nervosité towards the finish. This is one of the best you will find from this propitious vineyard and a brilliant success for the domaine. Fill 'ya boots!

The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly has a taciturn bouquet at the moment, more reduced vis-à-vis the domaine’s other 2013 barrel samples. The palate is much more expressive, underpinned with a silver thread of acidity interwoven through Granny Smith apples and sliced lime segueing into a very pretty finish that you ascribe to say, Marc Colin or Hubert Lamy. Very refined and well crafted, this En Remilly comes highly recommended.
