The 2013 Charmes-Chambertin Aux Charmes has a very different nose compared to the Aux Mazoyeres, even though this comes from the same grower and picked on the same day: broody, more masculine, the fruit darker with touches of mint and heather coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins. There is great depth here, fine acidity and real harmony on the sophisticated finish. Excellent.
