Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Olivier Leflaive's 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru en Remilly, which was bottled under Diam 10 closure, has a refined bouquet with scents of yellow flower and granite. There is something almost Meursault-like on the nose, a faint nuttiness. The palate is well balanced with a rounded and concentrated entry, a fine bead of acidity, quite rich for a Saint Aubin although it does retain satisfying balance, and there is appreciable salinity on the finish.

Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly has a more closed and introspective bouquet compared to the first two wines in the flight: cold slate and green apple, almost Chablis-like in style. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, well balanced if not quite delivering the same level of complexity as its peers. Enjoy over the next 4-6 years. Tasted May 2016.
