The 2013 Reserva comes from a challenging vintage and is mostly Tempranillo with 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo, aged for two years in American and 5% French oak barrels. I found some common characteristics with the 9 Barricas from this same year, which might be the character of the vintage, with a faintly animal profile and a palate where dry tannins tend to dominate. 97,850 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2017.

Sandalwood and tobacco aromas give way to berry and cherry fruit flavors, anchored by loamy earth and leafy notes, in this traditional-style red. Offers light, firm tannins and orange peel acidity. The 2011 Reserva is mostly Tempranillo with some 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo; the grapes come from a warm and ripe vintage and the aged for two years in American and French oak barrels. It comes through as very ripe, which is consistent with the style of the vintage, mixing balsamic notes from the aging with fruit-driven ones. The palate has liqueur-like sensations of macerated black fruit. 75,000 bottles.
