Il Poggione’s wines continue to change, evolving towards a slightly less mature style and offering more fruit and freshness. Non-traditional varieties are also being cultivated and used for wines such as the 2000 San Leopoldo, a Sangiovese-Cabernet blend of good vigor, and energy, peppery currant fruit, and a crisp, lingering finish.
