The 2021 Grauburgunder Trocken offers a fully ripe and elegant bouquet with flinty and refreshing stony notes spicing the fully ripe and generous but pure and elegant fruit. Medium to full-bodied, this is a round and elegant, finely fresh, persistently saline and structured Pinot Gris with a long and stimulating finish. 12% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in July 2022.

Fermented and aged in doppelstücks (2,400-liter barrels) until the bottling In April, the 2020 Grauburgunder Trocken opens with an intense and aromatic yet also fine bouquet that is remarkably delicate, pure and precise on the nose. On the palate, this is more coolish, spicy, fresh and vital compared to the Pinot Blanc, quite filigreed and very elegant, with a good finish. Finely tannic on the finish and stimulatingly bitter. Tasted at the domain in July 2021.

The 2019 Grauburgunder Trocken offers clear, ripe, intense and elegant fruit. Full-bodied, refined and very elegant on the palate, this is a pure, salty and refined Pinot Gris with substance and good grip on the finish. Excellent. Tasted as a sample in Bremen, April 2020.

The 2016 Nahe Grauburgunder Trocken opens clear but intense and perfectly ripe on the nose, with flavors that are darker toned and more spicy compared to the Weissburgunder. On the palate, this is a juicy, round and well-structured Pinot Gris with fine tannins and a nice grip in the finish. Moderate in alcohol (12.5%) and with spicy flavors in the clear and intense aftertaste, this is a great wine with food.

The 2015 Grauburgunder Trocken is clear, ripe, intense and spicy on the nose, and it indicates more complexity than the Pinot Blanc. It has a creamy texture, but is clear, fresh and piquant on the palate. It was fermented in a Doppelstück and ended up with no residual sugar like the Pinot Blanc. The finish is fresh and bit greener than last year.
