The gorgeous 2010 Taurasi Vigna Quattro Confini is a wine that won my attention and my heart. This distinctive expression is born in a high-altitude vineyard (up to 600 meters above sea level) with clay and limestone soils with both east- and west-facing exposures. This is an elegant, cool climate Taurasi that delivers a huge balsam presence in the form of cola, rosemary spring, dried ginger, pomegranate and cherry. The bouquet is ethereal and delicate, with penetrating longevity and persistence. That special aromatic intensity is likely to become more refined and pure as this Taurasi continues its evolution.
