Inky dark in appearance and richly concentrated, the 2011 Bolgheri Rosso Moreccio represents a 40-30-30 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. There’s an extra layer of blackberry jam that presides over spice, leather and cured meat. The wine only sees six months of barrique, but the impressive softness and extraction make you think it has aged longer. Anticipated maturity: 2013- 2018. Fattoria Casa di Terra is an under-the-radar estate (with 24 hectares of vine) that should gain new visibility now that its state-of-the-art winery has been completed.
