Santa Ema’s entry level wines were generally uninspiring except for the following two offerings The 2006 Amplus Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 12 months in barrique. Purple-colored, it has an alluring nose of spice box, black currants, blackberry, and a suggestion of chocolate in the background. Smooth-textured, forward, and easy-going, this nicely balanced wine has a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Drink this excellent value over the next five years.
