The 2015 Barbera del Monferrato Maraia is an immediate and accessible wine with a plump and juicy approach. The wine is partially aged in oak, and fruit comes from the Monferrato subzone that normally renders a slightly more rustic and earthy personality. Wild berry is followed by forest bramble, button mushroom and black olive. The wine's acidic impact has been softened, thanks to longer hang time before harvest. That extra ripening results in fruity sweetness and a softer overall texture.
