Austere, tightly knit, and excessively tannic and structured for the amount of fruit, this dark ruby-colored wine is muted aromatically. It appears to be all structure and grip in the mouth. Additional fruit and charm may be there, but neither were poking their head through the wine's hardness when I tasted it in November, 1997.
