The 2009 Salanques is a blend of 65% Garnacha, 15% Carinena, 10% Syrah and 5% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that is raised for 14 months in French oak. It has a very floral, quite alcoholic bouquet that is smudged compared to others. The palate is full-bodied with rich, oaky, mulberry and liquorice fruit, although the finish is just a little heavy-handed. Drink now-2020.
