The 2009 Taurasi is in a nice place in its evolution and is drinking very well at the moment. The bouquet shows budding tertiary signs of barbecue spice, dried cherry, dusty mineral and balsam herb. These various components come together in a tight and unified fashion. Time and bottle aging has also worked in favor of shaping silky, long tannins that are fine but firm in personality. This wine can be consumed now or can hold ten more years.

Richly spiced, offering up-front flavors of melted licorice and crushed black currant, with hints of grilled herb and seared mushroom adding complexity. Well-balanced, showing bright, lightly tangy acidity and supple tannins through to the finish. Better than previously reviewed.
