Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Chartron's 2014 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru quashed the reservations that I expressed when I first tasted it from barrel. Here, it has a crisp, slightly reduced but attractive bouquet with touches of white peach and fine mineralité. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, very saline in the mouth with a delicious, sappy finish. This has turned out to be a very classy Corton-Charlemagne that should age with style. (Incidentally, this was bottled using Diam 10.)

Butterscotch, vanilla and peach aromas and flavors hold court in this mouthfilling, toasty white. Creamy and balanced, with a long, spicy aftertaste. Best from 2019 through 2030. 100 cases made, 10 cases imported.??–BS??Region: France / Burgundy / Corton-Charlemagne Select to Add
