The 2004 Castelao / Shiraz “The Cork Grove” grape blend has to make you wonder, right? It plays into the stereotypes, laced with oak, and ultra sweet. It is soft, and simple, with red berry flavors. There is little structure to speak of. This does nothing for me. Its candied sweetness is rather distracting, but for fans of the style, it does its job well enough and fairly for a very modest price. Drink now-2008. 83 points. This family-owned estate has been in the same hands for some two centuries.
