The 2008 Vespa Rosso is a typical Friulian red. It shows lovely depth and balance to match its understated personality. Juicy red berries, sweet herbs, leather, licorice and mint are some of the notes that wrap around the vinous finish. The acidity is a touch on the high side, but that won’t be an issue at the dinner table, where wines like this are meant to be enjoyed. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
