Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Br?lées is immensely impressive, bursting with aromas of ripe dark berries, candied peel, raw cocoa and sweet Asian spices, with incipient hints of the sapid bass notes to come. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, multidimensional and strikingly satiny, with the lavish, enveloping texture that is the hallmark of this great premier cru underpinned by juicy acids and framed by extremely fine-grained and largely hidden tannins. There's a purity and liveliness to this Aux Br?lées that made it stand out among its peers in this tasting.
