In 1992, Jacques and Francois Carillon have fashioned the finest white wines I have tasted from this domaine. While there has been an upward progression in quality since the mid-eighties, the 1992s exceed anything the Carillons have produced in over twenty years. The 1992 Puligny-Montrachet is a knock-out wine for its appellation. Its wonderfully sweet, honeyed perfume is followed by an unctuous, thick, rich, medium to full-bodied wine with loads of fruit, and enough acidity for focus and uplift. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
