The Monastrell Dolc will age much longer than the regular bottling. It is produced from 50-year old Mourvedre, vinified, then fortified with alcohol. Its tank aging results in abundant freshness. The 2003 does not taste as sweet as its ripe nose suggests, but it is a powerful, full-bodied effort offering notes of road tar, blue and black fruits, and flowers. It is best drunk alone or with cheese at the end of a meal. It should evolve nicely for 4-5 years, but it will probably not improve much in the bottle.
