    The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard will be the last vintage of this wine, as there was no crop in 2020 (due to fires) and Beringer didn't renew the lease for 2021. It does offer something a bit different from the other single-vineyard wines, more cherry-focused fruit, with hints of cedar, chocolate and cinnamon. Less intense than Beringer's other single-vineyard Cabernets, it's medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant, with a long finish.

    The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up notes of crème de cassis, prunes, tilled earth and sautéed herbs with broody wafts of tar and new leather plus a hint of hoisin. Full-bodied, firm, chewy and rather rugged, the palate is coated with dried berry flavors, and it finishes a little rustic. 367 cases were made.

    The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 21 months in 40% new French oak. It has a deep garnet-purple color and features wild blueberries, mulberries, warm plums and cassis with suggestions of forest floor and cigar boxes. Full-bodied and very structured in the mouth, it has a solid line of firm, grainy tannins and lively acidity lifting the intense, earthy flavors to a long finish. 506 cases produced.

    The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard has a deep garnet-purple color and pronounced notes of dark chocolate, aged beef and black soil over a core of crème de cassis, blueberry pie and cloves plus a waft of fried herbs. The big, rich, full-bodied palate is densely packed with baked black berries and savory layers, supported by firm grainy tannins and finishing with a pleasant chewiness.

    The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard comes from the higher slopes of Spring Mountain and is always a small cuvée of about 291 cases. This wine always reveals floral notes intermixed with blueberries and black raspberries as well as hints of licorice and incense. The 2014 is delicious, full of fruit extract, full-bodied, up-front and sexy.
