Made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with 16% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille is fresh, complex and floral with gobs of purity on the nose and picturesque aromas of spiced plum compote, blackberry reduction, succulent florals and elegant oak tones. Medium to full-bodied, the wine delivers a seductive and pleasurable mouthfeel with complex layers that show impressive depth and precision, with elegance and grace. Set to be released in March of 2024, this barrel sample is already begging me back for more. Get in line to capture any of the 10,800 bottles produced.

Bright, primary and dark red fruited with a dusty core, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille offers sweet oak essence with a floral lift that floats from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the wine offers gobs of fruit with fantastic balance and a refined focus with a quality-driven, rich and food-friendly essence before gliding to an elegant and graceful finish. The beautiful thing about this wine is that you can drink it young, but your patience will be rewarded with a decade or more of cellar aging. Stunning!

Acting similarly to the 2015, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille is dense and chewy and will still need additional time for the wine to tell its secrets. Dense, chewy and firm with a tannic edge, the full-bodied wine is seemingly closed down. The wine will no doubt be gorgeous with time, but its generous and lively nature will show better with more time in the cellar. Be patient; this one is a creeper, yet it will outlast the 2015 bottling.

Oak-driven with sweet baking spices, dark cherry and freshness of fruit, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille offers bright floral aromas with notions of black plum reduction. Medium to full-bodied, the wine shows high-toned floral expressions with a firm tannic edge and a delightful mineral tension before concluding with a rich, expressive finish. It's delightful now, and I recommend drinking this one on the younger side.

Lush and round, delicate red fruit aromas of cherries and plums overflow from the nose of the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille with a delightful and juicy frame, dusty florals and lively oak expressions. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is expressive with sweet baking spices, potpourri and spiced plum flavors, as the mid-palate reveals a refined, firm and balanced structure. The wine glides to a long, spicy and gorgeous finish. Bravo!
