With fruit from La Morra that tends to show softer lines and silkier tannins, the 2019 Barolo Fossati delivers a dark ruby color with aromas of bright cherry fruit and dried raspberry followed by grilled herb and crushed flowers. The wine has a bright and punchy bouquet compared to the others in this portfolio.

Fragrant and shaded by vanilla and toasty oak, this red displays cherry, raspberry, menthol and tar flavors. Turns dense and compact on the finish, with dusty tannins leaving a tactile feel. With fruit from La Morra, the Cascina Adelaide 2018 Barolo Fossati makes a good starting point for the various single-vineyard expressions made by this prolific estate. The Fossati is immediately floral and delicate in character with dried lilacs and violets. After that initial floral interlude, the bouquet then veers toward spice, licorice and a hint of balsamic or medicinal herb. The finish is nicely enhanced by bright freshness and silky, or subdued, tannins.
