The 2012 Plan B is a different blend compared with previous years, Garnacha, Syrah and Cari?ena and it matured in 225- and 300-liter oak barrels for one year. It comes through quite oaky and spicy, with aromas of cinnamon and dark chocolate coating some black cherries. The palate reveals dusty, oak-related tannins and a light, commercial wine that is easy to drink. 2,800 bottles produced.

The 2010 Plan B is a very oaky blend of Garnacha, Morenillo, Carinena and Syrah which aged for one year in 300-liter French oak barrels. The nose has notes of powdered cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, charred wood and peat with a medium to full-bodied palate and abundant dusty tannins, ending with a note of dark chocolate. Wait for the oak to integrate. Drink 2014-2017. The unusual name means “the boiler” in the Catalan language. La Bollidora was created in 2005 in an old distillery, where wine was boiled to produce alcohol, hence the name. No known American importer.

The 2009 Plan B is a blend of 40% Garnacha, 25% Morenillo, 25% Carinena and 10% Syrah that is aged in 300-litre French barriques. It has a ripe, generous bouquet of macerated dark cherries, blueberry jam and violets that combine with some prune-like notes. The 2008 Plan B is composed of 40% Garnacha, 25% Samso, 25% Morenillo, and 10% Syrah aged for 12 months in 300-liter French oak. Notes of damp earth, mineral, lavender, spice box, and assorted black fruits lead to a firm, juicy, well-proportioned wine with a fruit-filled finish. It displays a complex aromatic array of crushed stone, espresso, Asian spices, black cherry, and blackberry. Layered, plush, and pleasure-bent, it will evolve for 1-2 years but can be approached now.
