The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo is simple and one-dimensional with baked plum, blackberry, tar, smoke and black licorice. This lean-bodied Nebbiolo has the freshness and just enough structure to cut through a plate of ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach.

The Giuseppe Cortese 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo pours from the bottle with a lean color and appearance. It shows shiny highlights of both garnet and darker shade of purplish ruby. This wine happily and fullheartedly embraces all of the most naked characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape, with forest fruit, tilled earth and freshly milled white pepper. This is a terrific wine for an informal trattoria meal with a huge spread of appetizers and slices of pizza shared by friends from the same pie. An ample 10,000 bottles were made.

The Giuseppe Cortese 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo presents classic varietal aromas of wild berry, rose and crushed limestone. This is a great option if you are looking for a simple and stripped-down expression of the mighty Nebbiolo grape. It remains informal and approachable throughout, so a pairing with a sausage and broccoli pizza would do nicely. The mouthfeel is polished and light. There are tart cherry notes on the close with orange peel and even a touch of sweet peach. Some 10,000 bottles were produced.

There's a nice darkness and thickness to the 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo, with plenty of black cherry fruit concentration. This wine is packed with dark primary fruit and some mild spice thanks to 12 months of aging in Slavonian oak casks. This is a bright, medium-bodied Nebbiolo to pair with stewed meats dishes. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo is a smooth and silky wine that is immediately attractive and highly versatile, especially with pasta or easy meat dishes. This is a clean, ruby colored expression with a fragrant bouquet that shows a very evident floral signature with rose hip and dried lavender. This finish here is zesty, bright and teeming with energy. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
