    A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12.5% each Malbec and Petit Verdot, the 2018 Walla Walla Reserve explodes from the glass with a luscious and generous expression, offering up notions of black raspberry, spiced plum and blackberry jus. Full-bodied, this heavyweight champ has a velvety denseness to the mid-palate, with a luscious essence of crème de cassis, resinous purple flowers and chocolate-covered blueberries. The wine continues to evolve with persistence for more than a minute on the long-lingering finish. It's a gorgeous and generous wine that spent 22 months in new and used French oak barrels. If you can get your hands on some of this juice, don't skip the chance.

    A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Petit Verdot and 10% Malbec, the 2017 Walla Walla Reserve flirts with perfection. The nose explodes with layers and complexity, offering a frame of elegant spices, picture-perfect ripe fruit essence, dark cherry, black raspberry, spiced plum and redcurrant before subtle hints of tar and purple flowers start to seduce the nose. Full-bodied, showing impeccable weight and balance on the palate, the generously structured wine offers a succulent fruit frame supported by lifting tannins and energetic acidity that continue to unpack across the mid-palate. Driving the finish are long, layered and complex expressions that offer nonstop pleasure, proverbially ending with a spectacular firework display of flavor. Boom!

    Quite different in profile to the Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Walla Walla Reserve offers up a rich bouquet of ripe blackberries, pencil shavings, cardamom and sweet soil. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and lavishly textured, with an ample core of fruit that initially conceals its firm chassis of abundant structuring tannins. Those tannins, however, assert themselves on the chewy, richly fruity finish, so this bottling will require 3 or 4 years of patience. It's a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Malbec and 8% Merlot.

    Even deeper colored, the 2014 Walla Walla Reserve checks in as a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec, and 8% Petit Verdot. Its vibrant purple color is followed by sensational notes of crème de cassis, graphite, lead pencil shavings and hints of damp herbs. Rich, full-bodied, gorgeously concentrated, tannic and impeccably balanced, it's unquestionably one of the gems in this vintage. It needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years and will keep for two decades or more.
