The 2006 Traminer Aromatico is rich and weighty, yet superbly well balanced in its exotic passionfruit, mango, peach and spice flavors. The fruit is supported by an ever-present minerality that frames the wine beautifully and keeps the style restrained. The estate’s vines are planted to about 70% Alsatian clones, while the remaining 30% are various local clones. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010.
Pojer e Sandri, based in Trentino, has been one my favorite wineries since my student days in Boston, when I always found the wines to deliver superb quality, especially given my limited budget back then.
