Dusty and dark red-fruited with aromas of herbs and dusty flowers, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is medium to full-bodied. The palate is balanced with an herbal and juicy frame before ending with a straightforward finish.

Tight, dark, blue and black fruits define this cool-climate Cabernet. It’s supple and spicy, with firm but ripe tannins. The fruit is concentrated in a tight core, but persistent and resonant into a lengthy finish. Flavors mix mountain berry, bramble, wild herb, pencil shavings and peppery spice. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve was aged for 21 months in French and American oak. Medium purple-colored, it gives up a reticent nose of cedar, spice box, and assorted black fruits. A bit tight on the palate and in need of complexity, it should be drunk over the next 2-3 years while it retains its fruit. Waterbrook was one of just 4 wineries in Walla Walla when I first visited in 1990.
