The 2012 Campo Alegre (was about to be bottled) has a nose of very ripe plums, blackberries and banana peel with aromas of peat and smoke from the top barrels used. The tannins are abundant in a full-bodied palate ending a little dry and bitter. It needs time in bottle. Drink 2015-2019. Bodega Burdigala is the old name of Bordeaux, the project of the Lurton brothers with Michel Rolland. It really started in Rueda where they produce whites based on the local Verdejo grape, but they soon found out that some customers were asking for a red, so they started making wine in Toro with the local strain of Tempranillo called Tinta de Toro.
