Daniel and Gerard Vinet have been sending consistently high quality Muscadet to the U.S. for a quarter-century, and their 2005 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie offers an almost Chablis-like brothy suffusion of minerals, salts and wet stone. Notes of cress and cherry pit pique one’s aromatic interest, and fresh lime and cherry fill the mouth with juicy fruit. Amazingly, harvesting on September 10, the Vinets achieved 13% natural alcohol, yet their wine preserves all of the other classic Muscadet virtues.Imported by Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
