The 2016 Musigny Grand Cru was 60% destroyed by frost and includes whole-bunch fruit, not least just to fill the small tank. You can feel those stems on the nose and maybe it just obscures the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, fine acidity but I felt there was some dryness and chewiness on the finish. I can’t help thinking that this Musigny cannot forget the trauma of the frost. Distracted? Let’s see how it turns out in bottle.
