The 1996 Shiraz's intensely smoky, bacon fat, and sausage-scented nose is attractive. As the wine sits in the glass, more toasty French oak scents emerge. Rich and seductive, with an expansive, flavorful attack and mid-palate, the finish is dominated by black fruits, pepper, and smoke.
