One of Beringer's newest projects is to expand the top of their portfolio, offering limited quantities (approximately 200 case lots) of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from the different terroirs. A Cabernet Sauvignon Terre Rouge was produced in 1994, 1995, and 1996. These are among the more backward, austere, and angular of the single-vineyard wines. The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Terre Rouge reveals a dark ruby color, spice, leafy tobacco, and earthy aromas, sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, medium body, and moderate tannin. It will need 2-4 years of cellaring, and keep for 15 or more. Tel. (707) 963-7115; Fax (707) 963-1735
