The 2015 Santenay Clos des Hates, which is 50% de-stemmed, a massale selection from d'Angerville and Henri Boillot planted in 1999, has a well-defined bouquet with black berry and bilberry fruit, subtle undergrowth scents coming through with time. The palate is grainy in texture, quite masculine with blackberry fruit, a pleasant leafiness towards the tertiary finish that just needs to develop a little more aftertaste. Enjoy over 4-6 years.
