The dark ruby-colored 1994 Zinfandel Dickerson Vineyard exhibits attractive mint and black-cherry fruit aromas along with a touch of spice, medium body, a certain austerity and leanness, and good purity. Moderately endowed, this is a restrained yet elegant Zinfandel for drinking over the next 5-6 years. Ravenswood has again fashioned an impressive array of distinctive Zinfandels. Only the Sonoma and Napa offerings were in bottle when I tasted them, although the single vineyard wines were about to be bottled. NOTE: All the wines in this article were tasted in May, 1996.
