The 2012 Chardonnay Hope’s Cuvée is a successful rendition of an old-styled California Chardonnay with lots of oak intermixed with a buttery richness as well as plenty of freshness and precision. Made from old vines (33 years), it is a dense, rich, generously wooded effort with plenty of fruit and character. Think of it as a blend of a French white and a traditionally styled California Chardonnay. Not everyone will like it, but I love it. Drink now-2018.

Big and rich, with flavors of smoky oak, butterscotch, licorice and fig , yet this maintains a measure of balance and grace that is evident on the finish, where the flavors linger. Drink now through 2020. 440 cases made. –JL

Estate-grown and bottled, this is the winery owner's ode to his mother, and the highest-end white he makes. Deeply layered in fennel and oak, it is a hearty, generous expression of ripe apple and wild vanilla, softly textured, that will benefit from time in the cellar, through 2020.
