With fruit sourced not too far from the winery headquarters, the Cascina Adelaide 2016 Barolo Preda offers a steady and sure-footed expression of Nebbiolo that finds stability in equal parts dark fruit, spice, licorice and ferrous earth. There's a nice balance here, as if to suggest that the wine made closest to home is the easiest to approach and understand. That easy read of the Nebbiolo grape gives this release of 12,000 bottles a slightly more immediate drinking window.
