The 2009 Craighall Chardonnay was naturally fermented in Burgundy barriques, 25% new, and aged in barrel on lees for 9 months. It has a toasted nut and mealy character to the nose over a core of warm peaches, mandarin peel, pink grapefruit and green mango. The palate leads with a wonderfully satiny texture and very good concentration of creamy stone fruit flavors with lively acidity and a long layered finish. Delicious now, it should drink best 2012 to 2016+.
