So what do readers expect? This winery continues to move from strength to strength. Montelena has introduced a less expensive Cabernet Sauvignon they call Calistoga Cuvee. It is a more supple wine, yet it still manages to offer some of the rich cassis fruit and power and depth of the exquisite Estate Cabernet. The 1992 Calistoga Cuvee exhibits an excellent opaque ruby/purple color, rich black-cherry and cassis fruit, medium to full body, fine ripeness and depth, and a supple, round texture.
