Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Faiveley has a little flatness on the nose compared to others, not quite as complex, slightly mulch-like with a light herbaceous seam. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight hardness on the entry. This lacks a little momentum and tension, what you might call a "static" Clos Vougeot that feels chewy on the finish. I've tasted much better wines from Faiveley in recent vintages.

A high-toned, kirsch- and strawberry-flavored red, with a lean, taut structure. Stays compact on the finish, but should relax in due time as the fruit, acidity and tannins meld. Best from 2019 through 2032. 65 cases imported.??–BS??Region: France / Burgundy / Clos de Vougeot Select to Add
