Buyers looking for a super bargain should squirrel away a case or two of Jaboulet's 1990 Cotes du Ventoux. It is hard to believe that so much flavor and character can be found in a wine that sells for $6 a bottle. The blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah has resulted in a deeply colored wine, with an excellent, big, jammy-scented nose, spicy, medium to full-bodied flavors, and light tannins in the excellent finish. It may improve for 1-2 years, and is capable of 5-6 years of evolution. Importer: Frederick Wildman & Co., New York, NY.
