This wine was previously reviewed. Packaged in a heavy glass bottle, the Villa Mangiacane 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione District Z is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. This is a dark and nicely saturated wine with bold layers of dark fruit, blackberry confit and dried cherry. Despite the wide range of those aromas, the wine is actually quite tight and streamlined in terms of mouthfeel, with a medium-short finish.
