The 2013 Shiraz from Hunter Valley is a medium-bodied wine with a firm, crisp structure. Cedar, cinnamon and vanilla notes from French oak add interest to the tart red currant and cranberry fruit. (The wine does add some darker, blueberry notes with aeration.) With its tight style, it would make a good foil for fatty cuts of red meat.
