    The 2019 Mira Salinas is from a vintage marked by rains during the harvest but that achieved high ripeness and 15.3% alcohol. The wine matured in used 225-liter barriques for 10 months. This is a lot more fruit-driven and less oaky than the 2017 I tasted next to it. It seems like there's a big change in style and the wine is more in line with the profile of the MO from this same vintage—juicy and ripe and with more integrated oak. They seem to have abandoned the new oak ,and the wine seems to welcome it. 45,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.

    The 2017 Mira Salinas is 100% Monastrell with 15% alcohol., a pH of 3.42, high ripeness and freshness. It matured in 225-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new, for eight months. This is still quite oaky and heady, with ripe fruit and a full-bodied palate with jammy flavors and plenty of dusty tannins, finishing dry. Ripe and oaky Monastrell, for fans of the style. 23,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2020.

    They removed the Garnacha Tintorera, so the 2016 Mira Salinas is now pure Monastrell, with a little less ripeness and alcohol than the 2015 I tasted next to it. It matured in 225-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new. I see a big jump from the 2015 here; this is a lot fresher and the oak feels a lot more integrated. It's approachable and juicy, with fine tannins and a more vibrant palate with livelier flavors and more finesse. It seems like a change in style toward more elegance and drinkability. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2018.

    The powerful red 2015 Mira Salinas is a blend of Monastrell with Garnacha Tintorera that hits the scale at 15% alcohol. It was produced with grapes from older vineyards on limestone soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and matured in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for 12 months. This is old style, ripe and concentrated, from a warm and dry year, meaty and with ripe black fruit with dusty rusticity and plenty of tannins. It needs powerful food and/or some more time in bottle. 5,100 bottles were filled in June 2018.

    The 2014 Mira Salinas is a ripe and powerful blend of Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha Tintorera from older vineyards on chalk soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in a combination of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for 12 to 14 months. It's balsamic and ripe, with some oak still to be integrated. The palate is consistent with the nose, powerful, concentrated, with some dusty tannins in need of more time in bottle and/or powerful food. 11,000 bottles were filled in May 2017.
