While good, I found the 2014 Saint Joseph Blanc a touch lackluster and boring, with an evolved, open knit, fruity and simple style. It should be consumed ASAP.

The 2005 St Joseph Blanc offers classic, mature notes of buttered toast, marmalade, citrus and almond paste in a fully mature, clean, classy, medium-bodied style. It’s ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years.

In the same ball park quality wise, the 2003 Saint Joseph Blanc is outstanding, with honeyed minerality, white currants, hazelnut and floor wax-like aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, beautifully fresh, and with serious purity, enjoy this serious white over the coming 5-7 years. Winemaker Stephane Montez produced a serious lineup in 2003. All of the wines are beautifully made, have pure fruit and overall fresh, lively characters.

The 2000 St.-Joseph (from vineyards surrounding the village of Chavannay) exhibits a medium-bodied, soft, ripe style, good cherry and currant fruit, low acidity, and attractive ripeness. This wine is outstanding. The 1997 St.-Joseph (13% natural alcohol; produced from yields of 32 hectoliters per hectare, and no new oak) is a ripe, dense purple-colored wine with abundant quantities of jammy black fruits, a seductive, lush, concentrated palate, admirable fruit purity, and plenty of glycerin and layers of flavor. The wine is aged only in demi-muids. Like all of Montez's reds, it is bottled unfiltered. It can be drunk now and over the next decade.
