The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes mingles aromas of orange oil and peach with hints of honeycomb, freshly baked bread and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with fine concentration, chalky grip and a rich but precise profile, this is promising.

Open and charming, Colin's 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes mingles aromas of ripe Anjou pear and yellow apple with hints of stone fruit, white flowers and buttery pastry. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely defined, its gourmand core of fruit is underpinned by lively acids.

Offering up aromas of white flowers, crisp orchard fruit and clear honey, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes is medium to full-bodied, open-knit and delicate, with a pretty core of fruit, ripe acids and moderate concentration.

Scents of peach, yellow orchard fruit, fresh apricot and dried white flowers preface the 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive palate, concluding with good length. This is a controlled Chenevottes that confirms its strong showing from barrel.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes, which sees 25% new oak, came across reserved and recalcitrant on the nose despite coaxing. The palate has a pleasant sour lemon note on the entry, good depth of fruit, but here I just found the finish to be a little smudged compared to some of the razor-sharp Saint Aubins from the domaine. Good, but this is for early drinking rather than long cellaring.
