Round, with a buttery edge to the peach and apricot fruit. A firm structure of acidity and a light tannic feel keeps this compact on the lingering, spice-tinged finish.

The 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot was reduced from sixty to twenty-six barrels because of the frost. Often cited as one of the domaine’s best crus, it boasts one of the most intense aromatics from the domaine this year with scents of white peach, walnut oil, linseed and just a slight petrol-like aroma in the background. The palate is well balanced but certainly rich and powerful, sporting an almost viscous texture and a gorgeous, honeyed finish that caresses the mouth. I love the depth and drive of this Virondot, a great success for winemaker Sabine Morey in a challenging vintage.

Round and fruity, displaying Key lime pie, vanilla, pastry and floral flavors. Balanced and approachable, with a juicy finish. Drink now through 2024.

There is enough reduction to mask the fruit but not the citrus elements. I like the sense of verve to the even more mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess excellent size and weight while retaining solid delineation on the impressively complex and persistent finale. This is quite dry in the context of what is typical for the vintage and sufficiently firm that I would suggest allowing it at least a few years of cellar time first.

A ripe, smoky cast envelops the core of lemon tart, peach and baking spice flavors in this exotic white. Loosely knit, with a lingering finish of lemon, spice and toasty oak. Offers fine flavors and a nutty aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2028. 850 cases made, 180 cases imported.
