The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard takes some coaxing to reveal aromas of lemongrass, lemon-lime candy, sage and tarragon, offering deeper peachy and flinty tones with time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate feels youthfully coiled, focused on flinty citrus at this stage. It has focused acidity and a pleasing textural grip but needs a year or two in bottle to fully unwind.

The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard is another extraordinary example of the variety from Dragonette Cellars. It's ripe and gregarious, with scents of peach cobbler, honey toast, tarragon and exotic spices. The palate is satiny with concentrated, layered fruits, seamless acidity and a long, singularly exotic finish.

The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard has a serious, savory nose of honeyed peaches, kiwi tart, dried hay, honeysuckle and spiced red apples with accents of crushed stone and citrus peel. The palate is medium-bodied and rounded with an energetic fruit profile, tangy acidity and a long finish. 250 cases were made.

My favorite of these three Sauvignon Blancs from Dragonette, the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard offers up an attractive nose of gooseberry, paraffin wax and subtle botanicals, followed by a medium-bodied, glossy palate with good tension and cut, concluding with a chalky, persistent finish.

The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard is scented of struck flint and wet pebbles over a core of warm peaches and lime leaves, plus hints of lemongrass and curry leaves. Medium-bodied with a savory palate and satiny texture, it finishes on a chalky note.
